The College of Sciences and Engineering hosts three wind
tunnels capable of transonic and supersonic testing. These are complemented by
two water tables for testing high speed vehicles by hydraulic analogy. Bespoke rigs can be developed to make use of the 8m3
high pressure air storage, currently running at 40 bar gauge expandable to 70
bar abs (1000 psig), using 2 in and 3 in diameter-controlled outlets.
These public facilities are currently accessible
to interested parties wishing to undertake collaborative or contract research.
Proposals for collaborative academic research with 4* journal publications or
REF impact are welcome on a free access base. Contract research proposals
seeking time on the facility at a daily rate are welcome, for commercial research.
