​In 2016, in the presence of UK astronaut Major Tim Peak, Thales Alenia Space and Thales celebrated the opening of its new £5 million Electric Propulsion Integration Centre in Belfast, representing a major milestone in Thales and Thales Alenia Space’s commitment to invest in the UK to design and build the next generation propulsion systems. The facility benefits from 550m² of clean room facilities and the world class industrial capabilities of Thales.​
