Typical areas of research include automation to reduce variation, re-work, and costs whilst improving productivity and decision-making tools for an organisation-wide strategy of where best to apply Intelligent Automation. We see the main opportunities in Space to deploy more automation techniques in helping to increase volume build of craft as rates increase and helping to reconfigure manufacturing set-ups to enable variety of manufacturing builds. Also, major interest in using robotics for servicing and repair of satellites whilst in service (in Space).
